Ronald D. Craig, 81, husband of Janice Bunton Craig, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021. A native of Versailles, he was born on September 19, 1939 to the late J.D. and Hazel Beatley Craig. He was a Branch Manager for the Department of Agriculture as well as a cattle and sheep farmer. Ronald was a great supporter of youth in agriculture, especially the FFA, and he was a longtime superintendent of the sheep show at the North American International Livestock Exposition. He was also a member of the Committee of 101 for which he ushered fans at the University of Kentucky basketball and football games.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by his daughters, Lea (Michael) Lewis, Springfield, and Sheila (Roger) Cheatham, LaGrange; his grandchildren, Tyler (Jessica) Cheatham, Shelbyville, and Lindsey Cheatham, LaGrange; his step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Short, Lexington, and Robert Lewis, Bowling Green; and his great granddaughter, Brook Ann Farmer.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with Jake Sargent officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Tyler Cheatham, Roger Cheatham, Mike Lewis, Robert Lewis, Joe Grambrel, and Robert Pillow. Honorary casketbearers will be Lindsey Cheatham, Jennifer Short, and Danny Moore. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
