Charles Evan Vanoy, 83, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020. Husband to the late Anna Carolyn Coppage Vanoy, Charles was born June 4, 1937 to the late Albert and Mrytle Cochran Vanoy in Liberty, Kentucky. “Chief”, a nickname fondly given to him by his grandsons, loved his Westerns, enjoyed classic cars and attending car shows with his son, Steve, and was a man who believed in hard work, and proved it daily. Charles was a quiet man who enjoyed listening to bluegrass gospel and country music. In his younger years, he enjoyed going fishing and camping, but spending time surrounded by his family ranked above all things throughout his life.
Charles is survived by his children, Steve (Rhonda) Vanoy of Louisville, Barbie (Mike) Brentlinger of Lawrenceburg, and Francie (Cecil Jett) Ueltschi of Frankfort; a sister, Avenell Lumpkins of Liberty; a brother, Russell Vanoy of Warsaw; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Anna Carolyn, and parents, Albert and Mrytle Cochran Vanoy, Charles was preceded in death by a son in law, Steve Ueltschi.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, with Pastor J.P. Fugate officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers will be Shane Vanoy, Brent Vanoy, Aiden Vanoy, Daniel Ueltschi, Mike Brentlinger and Cecil Jett. Gabe Vanoy will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. A Visitation will be held prior to service, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort.
