Zephany Rushin

November 15, 1999 — September 30, 2021

Zephany Tania Rushin “Bubbles,” was born in San Diego, CA on November 15, 1999. She lived there until she was 3, and we moved to Lexington, KY. Although the majority of her life was spent living in Kentucky, she prided herself on being a “California Girl”. She was a proud student at Kentucky State University majoring in Psychology and Early Childhood Education. She was also a super star soccer athlete for the “Lady Defenders” of Bryan Station High School, class of 2017. Zephany dedicated her life early to the Lord, by accepting Him as her personal Savior at the age of nine. She was a member at Sozo Church of Midway, Kentucky pastored by Brent and Colleen Ireland. She is an honorary member of The Living Word Christian Center in Lexington, Kentucky pastored by Derrick and Dr. Deneia Thomas.

Zephany was an adventurists, experimentalists, and travel junky. She loved to read, create her own art, listen to all genres of music, and sing her favorite songs out loud, while completing her chores. She had an incredible imagination, was an awesome writer, and story teller. Zephany was bilingual (Spanish), and an incredible musician who could play multiple brass instruments (saxophone), dabble on the piano, and play the acoustic guitar.

Zephany was well traveled. She traveled more during her 21 years than most do in a lifetime. Her oversees and international travel includes: Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, and St. Croix. Domestic travel includes: 31 states visited or passed through. The large cities she has spent time with friends visiting and/or her family during vacation are: Los Angeles/San Francisco/San Diego, CA; Miami/Jacksonville/Orlando, FL; Chicago, IL; Nashville/Memphis TN; Atlanta, GA, Dallas/Houston TX; and New York, NY.

Zephany is preceded in death by her (Maternal) Grandfather Al F. Williams, first cousin Alrenzo “NatureBoi” Williams, and (Paternal) Judith C. Maddox – Anderson (Grandmother), Mose Rushin, Jr. (Grandfather), and Aqua Rushin, aunt (Monzelle Rushin and Bryson Davis).

Zephany is survived by her Father – Dr. Demetrit Rushin, her Mother – Dr. Palisa Williams Rushin, her younger brother Scholar Tomias Rushin, and two loving pets (her dog) Honey Brown (American Red Nose pit bull), and Chloe Sugar Rushin (family dog – Scorky). Her (Maternal) Grandmother – Ollie Marie Williams, and three Uncles – Almario (Gwen), Wynobie (Michelle), and Tievfic Williams (Paula). Her (Paternal) survivors are a Step Grandmother – Jennie Capitini, and two Aunts Misty Nichols (Harold), and Africa Freeman. She is survived by numerous cousins on both sides of her family. God parents Terry and Stephanie Love (Paternal) and Godmother – Beverly Joseph (Maternal).

Our dearest Zephany Tania Rushin, eldest and only daughter, you have overcome the world, and we are at peace with God’s decision to call you home. Rest in Heaven and make sure Jesus hugs you every day and let us feel it in our spirit man each time He does. We love you beyond words could ever express! We will not say good bye our love; instead, we will say, until we see you again beautiful. Love, Dad, Mom, Poppy “T”, Honey, and Chloe.
