Vernon Shepard

Vernon Ray Shepard, 64, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his residence. Born February 27, 1956 in Versailles, Kentucky to Elwood S. and Mary Frances Courtney Shepard Sr. Vernon was a University of Kentucky sports fan, and a member of Bless The Lord Church Lexington, Kentucky.

Vernon will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Veronica “Gay” Kenney (Bill), Lexington, Kentucky, brothers, Larry Douglas Shepard, Lexington, Kentucky, Elwood S. “Butch” Shepard (Rebecca), Saluda, North Carolina, niece, Kim Zywocki (Edwin), Lexington, Kentucky, Mary Kenney (Drew), Lexington, Kentucky, nephews, William Kenney (Emily), Lexington, Kentucky, Brandon Simpson, Lexington, Kentucky, Jesse Simpson, Tennessee, Great nieces Autumn Lee Detalente, Holly Ray Detalente, Katherine Grace Deathrage, and great nephew, Andrew Gunter Banahan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Joy Shepard Tipton.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 4:00 pm at Bless The Lord Church, 1404 Bryan Avenue, Lexington, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until service time. Burial will be Monday, February 1, 2021 at 12:30 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel. Friends and family are encouraged to leave messages of condolence and share memories on Vernon’s page.
