Valerie Brock

Valerie Brock, 61, died unexpectedly in her sleep on November 30, 2019. She was born March 22, 1958 in Frankfort, Kentucky, the only child of the late Vester and Julia Meriwether Brock.
She was employed as an auditor for the State of Kentucky for 22 years.
Valerie was an active member of the Susannah Hart Shelby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Frankfort, recently serving as secretary of the chapter. She was always willing to help in any capacity, delivering handmade pillows to the Veterans Center in Wilmore, attending Naturalization services for new US citizens, and serving as an officer in her DAR chapter.
Valerie loved history and genealogy. She was an active member of The Meriwether Society. She attended many family reunions for various branches of her family tree. She always attended funerals for her relatives and remembered those who have passed away by visiting cemeteries and creating memorials online.
Valerie volunteered her time at the Kentucky History Center, Bluegrass Hospice Care, and worked the polls on Election Day. An avid reader, Valerie participated in several book groups at the Paul Sawyier Library.
Valerie is survived by her son, Jacob Ellis, and his children, Joshua Hamilton and Keira Ellis.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 3-5 pm at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
