Obituary for Sue Cox Perry
Sue Cox Perry, 79, passed away on June 28, 2019. She was born in Anderson County on June 20, 1940 to the late Charles H. Cox and Eudenia Peak Cox. She graduated from Anderson High School and Draughon’s Business College in Louisville. She worked for the Department of Economic Security and Department of Natural Resources early in her career. She was the secretary for Capital City Christian Church for a decade. She was a legal secretary for 40 years working primarily for Donald Duff and John C. Ryan, retiring in 2015.
A faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Sue didn’t hesitate to care for others. She enjoyed cooking, multiple bridge clubs, music-especially Southern Gospel, and travel. She volunteered her time at Avenues for Women. Mrs. Perry grew up at Corinth Christian Church in Anderson County and was a member of Capital City Christian Church for over 50 years.
Mrs. Perry is survived by her son, Jeffery Dale (Katrina) Perry of Frankfort; her daughters, Lana Jolene Parris of Frankfort and Joy Beth (Robbie) Davis of Lakeland, Florida; her grandchildren, Trevor Perry, Jordan Parris, Brittany (George) Padilla, Perry Davis, Luci Davis, Susie Davis, Kelsey Cummins, and Caitlin (Aaron) Edgin; and great granddaughter Emerson Padilla and great grandson Jack Padilla.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Albert V. Perry, and brothers, George Campbell Cox and David Dale Cox.
Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2, at Capital City Christian Church, 15 Locust Lane, Frankfort, KY, with Jon Sutphin and Dr. Stephen Pattison officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Crusaders Class of Capital City Christian Church. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 pm until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avenues for Women.
