Phillip (Jack) Sapp

November 16, 1924 — August 17, 2020

Phillip (Jack) B. Sapp, 95, widower of Marie Ann Sapp, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020. He was born in Pensacola, FL on November 16, 1924 to the late Johnny Bryant and Lorrain Harp Sapp. He retired from the US Post Office and was a Veteran of the US Army, having served in WWII. Phillip was a member of Masonic Lodge Hiram #4, Scottish Rite, Oleika Shrine Legion of Honor, and the American Legion Post 7.
He is survived by his step-daughters, Cathy (Olson) Parrott, Lexington, and Carla Thomlin, Lexington; his daughter-in-law, Mary Armstrong; his brother, Bill Sapp, OR; his grandsons, Phillip Sapp and Brian Sapp; and his great grandchildren, Gavin Sapp and Lacee Sapp.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Lee Sapp; his sisters, Evelyn Salter and Shirley Mahoney; and his brother, Jackie Sapp.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Lodge will open at 10:30am at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shrine Crippled Children’s Hospital and Hospice of the Bluegrass.
