Marion Metts

Frankfort – Marion “Prissy” Franklin Metts, age 86, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Josh Rayborn officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. service time on Wednesday.
The son of Grover Alfred and Ida Belle Tincher Metts, he was born on November 13, 1932, in Frankfort. He attended Thornhill School as a child, and worked many odd jobs until he joined the Air Force at the age of 17. After many travels with the military, he returned home to Frankfort. He met and married the love of his life, Corella Faye Penn Metts, and they enjoyed 51 years of marriage. He retired from GE after 33 years of service. He was a life member of the VFW Post 4075, American Legion Post 7, 40 & 8 Post 7, Masonic Lodge #662, and the Frankfort Elks Club.
Affectionately known as “Prissy,” he had many friends and family that will miss him dearly. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, and especially University of Kentucky basketball.
He is survived by his children, Cliff Metts (Gina), and Dana Back (Merle); grandson, Dalton Phillips and granddaughter, Chelsea Metts. He was also blessed with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye; his parents, and siblings, Grover, Leon, Lena May, Louise, and Joe Bill.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family asks that you please wear your UK blue in memory of Prissy and the team he loved.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made ot Franklin County Humane Society or LIFE House for Animals.
