Obituary for Lura Hockensmith Allison

Frankfort - Lura Christine Hockensmith Allison, age 93, passed away at home on Monday, September 17, 2018. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018, with Bro. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time on Friday.
Mrs. Allison was born in Frankfort on January 4, 1925, to the late James Tilford and Lilly Riddle Hockensmith. She was united in marriage to her husband of 65 years, James Corbett Allison, who also preceded her in death. She was the owner and operator of Allison Insurance and Real Estate for many years. Mrs. Allison was a faithful member of Crestwood Baptist Church, serving as Sunday school teacher for 50 years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Johnny Lee Allison, and by her siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy T. Allison (Julie) and Larry Gene Allison (Rebecca); grandchildren, Robin Buchholz (Robbie), Ashley Jones, Jean Ellen Allison-Howell (Zech), and Gene Allison, Jr., and by three great grandchildren, Alanah, Kaylie, and Drew.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
