Katherine Edington Sams

Katherine “Irene” Edington Sams, 64, wife of Scotty Sams, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020. A native of Lawrenceburg, she was born on January 4, 1956 to the late Carl Spencer and Katherine Norton Edington. She retired from Bendix and was a member of North Frankfort Baptist Church. Katherine loved to spend time with her daughter and grandkids. She enjoyed being outside in her garden or fishing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Sams House, Frankfort; her sisters, Nancy Fowler, Lawrenceburg and Emma Jean Bradshaw, Mercer County; and her grandchildren, Hunter and Laiken House.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Edington.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Smith will be officiating. Serving as casketbearers will be Tommy Fowler, Mark Conway, Lindsey Smith, Hunter House, Ed Conway, and Ben Bradshaw. Honorary casketbearers will be Nancy Fowler, Emma Jean Bradshaw, and Laiken House. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
