John Johnson

John William Johnson Sr., 79, husband of Mary Catherine Johnson, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 in Versailles, Kentucky. John was born on September 5, 1939, in Shelby County, Kentucky, the son of the late Edmond and Maggie Johnson. He was member of First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Edmond and Maggie Johnson he was preceded in death by his daughter, Briggetti Combs, son, Michael V. Williams Sr., grandson, Alex P. Williams, and several siblings.
John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Catherine Johnson of Versailles, KY, two daughters, Doretha Turner (Kenneth) of Waddy, KY, Sharon Chisley of Frankfort, KY, three sons, John William Johnson, Jr. of Lexington, KY, Kim Williams (Tonya), of California, Christopher Scott Johnson, brother, Bill Johnson, of Bagdad, KY as well as thirteen grandchildren, Michael Williams Jr, Komeka Williams, Krystal Williams, Sara Williams, Regina Walker, Davielynn Chisley, Jessica Chisley, Kim Williams Jr., Keenan Williams, Alexa Katherine Johnson, Timothy Combs, Conchessa Davis, Demetrius Hall, twenty-eight great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at First Baptist Church, The Rev. Dr. Floyd Green officiating. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery will follow.
