Frankfort- Jackie C. Hood, 62, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017. She was born in LaGrange, GA on March 7, 1955 to Carrie J. Winn. Ms. Hood had several years of childcare experience, and worked as a pre-school teacher for Kentucky State University. She had her Associate's degree in Early Childhood and Family relations, and pursued her Bachelor's degree. In addition to raising seven successful children, Ms. Hood enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, decorating, playing with her grandchildren, and shopping. She was also a member of Shelbyville Christian Assembly.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters Cinnamon C. Hood, Faith A. Hood, Amanda M. Hood-Rose, Aimee M. Hood, sons Cliff O. Hood, David L. Hood, Jonathan M. Hood, sisters, Joanne E. Howell, Patsy A. Garrett, Cindy H. Frierson, Cynthia Winn, brothers Charlie E. Riley, Jr., James H. Riley, Grady R. Riley, Syndey Riley, Ray Carlos "Buck" Riley, Niarobi Riley, David Winn, Kelvin Winn, Tony Winn, and her grandchildren Austin K. Hood, Quintin Rowe, Amaya Rowe, Syanna Rowe, Camron Hood, Kaden Hood, Jaden Perry, Kyran Hood, and Weston Hood.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her Charlie Edward and Mattie Kate Riley, and her sisters/brothers Maragaret G. Mooney, Juanita E. Owens, Charlie E. Riley and James H. Riley.
Funeral Information
Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the start of the Funeral Service at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Pastor John Solinger and Faith Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. After everyone is invited back to the funeral for a reception from 2pm until 4:00pm.
