Obituary for Gladys W. Wingate
Gladys W. Wingate, 96, passed away Wednesday, July 03, 2019. The widow of William D. Wingate, she was born January 2, 1923 to the late Orlie and Susan Barker Whitton in Frankfort, Kentucky. A beautiful woman through and through, Gladys was an active member of Graefenburg Baptist Church, a talented seamstress making clothes for not only herself, but numerous members of her family, a phenomenal cook, and gardener putting up cans and cans of her beautifully grown vegetables every year. Gladys never put herself first, loving and giving was her priority.

Gladys is survived by her daughter Nancy Carol (Scott) Davenport, OH; son David A. Wingate (Carolyn Glaser), Frankfort; sister, Oma Brawner, Frankfort; sister in law, Rosa Lee Lewis; grandchildren Christina (Brad) Southworth; Julie Wingate; Brittaney Carol (Mike) Crider; Sadie Carol Davenport; Elaina Carol Davenport; and great grandchildren William Southworth; Annabelle Southworth; Natalie Carol Crider; and Mikie Crider.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Lee Goins and Edna Mae Whitton and a brother, John Michael Whitton.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00pm, Friday, July 5, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Bro. Phillip Meade officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, with the Graefenburg Baptist Church Deacons serving as pallbearers. A Visitation will be held from 11:00am until time of service on Friday.
