Doris Wallace

January 18, 1933 — September 3, 2020

Wallace, Doris Faye, 87, widow of John Morgan (Jack) Wallace, died September 3, 2020 at Baptist Health LaGrange. She was the daughter of the late Hester and Rachel Reese Muncie. Mrs. Wallace has been employed by Chase Bank (formerly Bank One), and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, singing in the choir for many years, as music was aver important part of her life. She was a member and past president of the Davidson Senior Music Group of Central Ky. She also accrued more than 5000 hours of volunteer service in the gift shop at Baptist Hospital Lexington. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Flowers, a brother Kenny Ingram, and 4 other siblings. Survivors include a daughter Lisa Lynn Wallace and her partner Mitchell Lee Albrecht, and one sister, Dixie Ahart, of Illinois.
Doris was known for her kind, sweet presence, and her witty sense of humor, and was loved by all who knew her. Doris had travelled to Florida numerous times with her husband and daughter, and enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Toronto, Ontario, and Branson, Missouri with Jack. She traveled extensively throughout the West with Lisa, experiencing the splendors of California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada.
Among her favorites were: Grand Canyon, and Sedona AZ, Lake Tahoe, Hearst Castle, and seeing 2 performances of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City. She also got a big kick out of visiting the town that bears her name, Dorris, in northern California. She also enjoyed a performance by Glen Campbell in Reno NV, on his final concert tour.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pine Meadows Post Acute, Lexington, KY; Richwood Nursing and Rehab, LaGrange, KY, Hosparus Hospice of Louisville, KY, and Baptist Health in LaGrange and Lexington KY, for loving and caring for Mrs. Wallace.
Mom, I love you beyond the outer edges of the Galaxy, and know you are rejoicing in Heaven with Daddy. But if you had to pick a year in which to exit this Earthly realm, 2020 was a good one to pick!
I will miss you, your smiles and advice, and will always hear your sweet voice asking me, “When are you ever going to comb your hair!?”
Love you Mostest!
