Donald Brewer

Frankfort - Donald Benjamin Brewer, age 83, passed away at home on Sunday October 14, 2018. Born September 13, 1935, in Frankfort to the late Delbert and Dolly Moffett Brewer, he was a 1954 graduate of Frankfort High School and retired from the U.S. Army with 26 years of service, Vietnam Veteran and also retired from the Kentucky State Police.
He was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church, having served as a deacon. He was an avid UK Wildcats fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Tom Brewer, Jerry Brewer, Selbert Brewer; sisters: Shirley Brewer Price and Joyce Brewer Taylor and a great grandson Logan Christopher Collins.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Brewer; sons: John Wesley Brewer (Teresa) and Donnie Ray Brewer (Michele) all of Frankfort, a daughter Jennifer Brewer Bergau (George), Naples, Florida; a brother Gilbert Brewer, Conyers, GA; 10-Grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 50 Bridgeport Benson Road, Frankfort, on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Everett Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, and at Faith Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time on Thursday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Will Kerns, James Sandifer, Danny Terry, Paul Daniel, Jeff Daniel, and Jeff Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Brewer, Scotty Daniel, Cody Daniel, Danny Jones, SPC. John Wesley Brewer, Jr. Sharon Jones, and the Deacons of Faith Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Faith Baptist Deacon’s Ministry, c/o Faith Baptist Church, 50 Bridgeport Benson Road, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
