Betty Scrogham

Betty Jewell Howard Scrogham, 84, widow of Bill Scrogham, passed away January 18, 2018 at U.K. Hospital. Born July 11, 1933 in Woodford County, Betty was the daughter of the late Harney Gill Howard and Gracie Belle Weber Howard.

Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Billy Keith Scrogham, five sisters and one brother.

Betty was a graduate of Salvisa High School and formerly worked as a janitor at Harrodsburg and Mercer County schools. More recently she served as a senior care companion in Anderson and Franklin counties. She was a member of the Anderson County Homemakers. She loved her daily walks through the American Legion Park and during the summer watching the kids play baseball. She also enjoyed her flowers and embroidering.

Betty is survived by her three daughters, Sherry Scrogham of London, Pam (Joie) Glass of Harrodsburg, and Connie (Jerry) Rutherford of Lawrenceburg, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and three sisters, Doris Karnezis of IN, Patsy (Pete) Turner of Versailles, and Faye Burns of Harrodsburg.
