Obituary for Adale Hockensmith Craig

Frankfort – Adale Hockensmith Craig, age 85, passed away at home on Thursday, January 17, 2019. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Everett Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. service time on Tuesday.

Mrs. Craig was born in Versailles, Kentucky, on June 11, 1933, to the late William Russell Hockensmith and Rose Parrish Hockensmith. She was united in marriage to Philip Craig, Sr., who also preceded her in death. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time working in her yard. Above all, she loved gathering with her family and especially loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Pam Norton, Philip Craig, Jr. (Debra), and Barry Craig (Lawana); eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was also blessed with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her siblings.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
