Obituary for Marzelle Wurtsmith

Marzelle Wurtsmith, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019. She was born in Ericksdahl, Texas on February 11, 1934 to the late Rudolph and Bavis Farmer Burkman. She retired from Kentucky State Government as a Financial Officer. She was a member and a musician at East Frankfort Baptist Church. She raised a family of Christians. Marzelle loved the Lord with all her heart, mind, body and strength; and she taught her kids to do the same. She was compassionate, family oriented, generous, encouraging, understanding, forgiving, and prayer warrior and loved her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Ginger Wilkinson, Louisville, Cathey (Brian) Bertrand, CO, Julie Farmer, CA, and Denice (Eric) Eggleton, TN; her sons, Ricky (Donna) Vaughn, CO, Larry (Patty) Vaughn, Versailles, and Shawn (Diane) Wurtsmith, CO; her sisters, Josie Miller, Patricia Gill, and Bobby Long; her brother, Winston Burkman; her grandchildren, Jacob Vaughn, Myndall Coffman, and Curran Wilkinson; 4 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wurtsmith.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at East Frankfort Baptist Church with Larry Brown and Kyle McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Tanner Coffman, Caleb Vaughn, Kaitlynn Vaughn, Grace Coffman, Jacob Vaughn, and Curran Wilkinson. Honorary casketbearers will be Myndall Coffman, Randy Coffman, Rachel McClain, Lincoln Coffman, and Mike Castellaw-Vaughn. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm until 5:00pm on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at East Frankfort Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Frankfort Baptist Church.
